If you are worried about Ozempic side effects, it is essential to know the most common Ozempic side effects, how they might affect you, how your body handles them, and what you can do to manage them. The most common side effects of Ozempic injection include:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Stomach (abdominal) pain
- Constipation
- Burping, gases, bloating in the stomach,
- Upset stomach, heartburn,
- Indigestion
- Loss of appetite
- Mode disturbance
- Depression(rare but happens to some people)

- Hypoglycemia(Low blood sugar level)
- Headache, Dizziness.
Let me explain how to manage the common side effects of Ozempic.
Ozempic Nausea & vomiting management
Use of Ozempic injection or any other drugs (liraglutide, exenatide) that work by slowing down digestion can lead to vomiting. For example, with Ozempic injection, patients vomit because the drug slows down digestion. That’s why patients feel nauseous with Ozempic injection.
You can relieve nausea and vomiting caused by Ozempic by using any anti-vomiting drug, such as “metoclopramide” or Domperidone.
However, you must take these medications if you vomit. In addition, they will prevent ozempic and semaglutide from working if you take them regularly while using Ozempic.
Management of constipation with Ozempic.
Ozempic slows down the movement in the large intestine, which occurs because of Ozempic’s slowing down of gastric emptying and intestinal motility.
To deal with constipation, you should maintain a high fluid intake and eat a fiber-containing meal or use the laxative of the herbal origin or lactulose syrup. I used fiber-rich food, and the constipation was highly relieved.
To overcome constipation and digestion problems caused by ozempic, Herbal medicine helped me a lot.
Management of Diarrhea Caused by Ozempic;
Diarrhea is a common side effect of Ozempic and GLP-1 medicine. Diarrhea develops when semaglutide, the main ingredient in Ozempic, alters the way the intestine absorbs water. Diarrhea usually subsides as your body adjusts to the medication. However, if diarrhea is severe or doesn’t resolve within a few days, seek medical attention.
Treatment for Diarrhea with Ozempic;
The treatment of diarrhea depends on the severity of symptoms. If diarrhea is mild, a change in diet and oral rehydration solution may help resolve diarrhea. However, if diarrhea doesn’t resolve after a few days, stop the medication and go to a health facility.
Stomach heartburn;
Use any antiacid, and heartburn will relieve.
Burping, gases, bloating.
For burping and bloating, use any antispasmodic drug-like Buscopan(Hyoscine) tablet and Simithicone containing products. You can use apple vinegar, like Goli gummies for bloating, this will work as a fiber supplement also.
Loss of appetite;
Ozempic causes people to lose their appetite. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything about this because this is the primary way Semaglutide (Ozempic) works.
Exhausted, Tiredness.
Other side effects include tiredness. Managing this is simple, though. Take omega-3 capsules, but avoid taking any other multivitamin because that can work like appetite stimulants. Omega-3 capsules were really helpful for me because I was feeling so exhausted.
Headache, Dizziness, Hypoglycemia with Ozempic;
This is an uncommon side effect of Ozempic, but some people report headaches and Dizziness shortly after taking it. You can manage by checking your blood sugar level. It would help, if you have a Glucometer at home, to check your blood sugar regularly.
Depression and mode Disturbance with ozempic;
Ozempic may cause depression, mode disturbance, or suicidal thoughts or behaviors in a rare number of people who take it. But if depression goes severe, stop the medication and seek medical attention.
My issues with Ozempic is burping, severe heartburn (not controlled immediately by nexium and other heartburn meds so I have to also use zofran), nausea, fullness, loss of appetite and constipation not controlled by Linzess so I have to add 4 gelcaps of stool softener. I also take hydrocodone for pain from degenerating discs in my neck and back and spondylosis in my back. Right after taking this, I have suddenly developed severe stomach pain that spreads to my chest sometimes (It feels like heartburn) and headache. This never happened before with hydrocodone, so I suspect the Ozempic is causing this. This med is not worth the amount of pain I am experiencing.
Better you stop ozempic and try other options for weight loss, like dieting and intermitent fasting
Better you stop it and consult with your doctor
