In this blog, I will walk you through how to use the Terumo Fit Smile glucose meter and show you all of the hidden options of this glucometer.
Unboxing
After unboxing, you will get a user guide manual that includes English and your native language.
A plastic cover protects this device, and batteries cells are used for the glucometer.
Install the battery cells first. Then, insert the cells in the correct order, according to the plus and minus symbols.
To switch on the glucometer, press the power button.

By pressing the up and down arrows, you may change the year.
Change the month and date in the same way.
After making the settings, turn off the glucometer.
Restart the glucometer to make sure of the settings.
The device will then prompt you to insert the strips into the glucometer.
Blood sugar Testing
Remove the strip’s cover and attach it by rotating anticlockwise. Also, remove the outer shell from the strip.
You can now position the lancet pen. First, choose a number to approximate the length of the needles for finger pricking.
Choose a lower number and prick your finger; increase the number to a higher number if no blood drops appear.
Insert the needle into the pen as shown. Next, remove the needle cap as directed in the video.
Now the lancet is ready to use. Keep on the side of the finger and press the puncture button.
When the blood drop appears on the finger, keep the meter beside the droplet.
The device screen gives direction to keep the strip on the blood droplet side. So we will do exactly like that.
The glucometer will begin measuring glucose levels, and we will get the readings in a few seconds.
After getting the readings, there is an important option to choose. You should select the before meals, after meals option, and the device screen color will change along with the emojis. It will show whether the sugar level is normal or elevated. You also can set a reminder for the next blood sugar test here.
You can check the previous blood sugar average also.
After checking your blood sugar, remove the strip from the glucometer.
By pressing this push button, you can remove the needle from the lancet pen.
Always have some strips, the lancet pen, and needles in the carry case where you keep the glucometer.
